We are but specks of dust, human ants on hill and germs on a galactic petri dish. Our existence is so small in this vast universe and our time is so short that we should probably look to the sky more often for the answers we seek. Read the story below by Teresa McIntosh-Hall about her experience with a UFO sighting in Dayton, Ohio.
I am convinced there are two types of people in the world. Those who see a UFO and say “it’s a weather balloon stupid” and those who say “oh my Looord the mothership has arrived.” I’ll let you guess which one I am.
When an unidentified object flew over Dayton, Ohio area two days ago there was much debate about what the object was. Many argued it was a weather balloon and others argued it was a very REAL “out of this world” UFO. Some argued it was an experimental spacecraft from Wright Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) while others believe it was a weather satellite called a loon.
There is still no official response from the national weather service, the Dayton International Airport, WPAFB or any national government agency regarding what many of us saw a few days ago. We are simply left to make an educated guess based upon our personal observations and vague, unofficial information available online.
I watched the object in the sky for almost 20 minutes. My girlfriend Christine stood next to me and watched the same object. We both walked away with different feelings about what we saw. This made me stop and think about how two people can exist in the same time and space and experience the same event together yet walk away with a very different experience or feeling about an event.
Do you see an Alien Ship or a Weather Balloon? Could this simple question be comparable to the Rorschach inkblot test? The Rorschach inkblot test was developed in 1921 and has been used as a psychological tool to record a subjects’ perceptions and interpretations of the world around them. These interpretations can lead psychologists to make educated assumptions about a patient’s personality and emotional functioning.
Would it be safe to say that the subjects who saw an Alien Ship are possibly dreamers, writers, dancers, artists, poets and philosophers? Would it also be safe to say that the subjects who saw a Weather Balloon are scientists, engineers, bookkeepers, mathematicians, auditors and subject matter experts?
Who should we trust to tell us about the world around us? The scientist or the poet?
Both. We should trust them both.
The scientist can tell us how high the balloon flies and how the fast the wind will carry it but the poet can tell us who made the wind which breathes life into the balloon to begin with. The poet needs the scientist to keep him grounded and the scientist needs the poet to keep him dreaming.
The human race is a beautiful and complicated creation. We are an imperfect canvas of amazing diversity made up of 7.53 billion souls with 7.53 billion unique fingerprints. No two DNA strands are alike (with the exception of identical twins).
We are but specks of dust, ants on hill and germs on a galactic petri dish. Our existence is so small in this vast universe and our time is so short that we should probably look to the sky more often for the answers we seek. I have a feeling though that our creator put the answers within us – in our DNA and if we slow down, look up, stand together and dream together – we might find the clues our creator sends us.
Sleep well my friend and know that the mothership flies high tonight.
