Be Grateful for The Mess

Be grateful for this awful mess

Because some messes are the best

A stack of blocks, a squeaky toy

Be grateful for your little boy

A half-dressed doll, a stuffed pink squirrel

Be grateful for your little girl

A sink full of pots and pans

And dirty dishes from our hungry clan

Yes, I love this awful mess

Because some messes are the absolute best.

20 years has come and gone

The house has been clean for way too long

No more toys, dolls or dirty socks

The floors are spotless and freshly mopped

The dishes are done and the sink is dry

So why are you crying little mama? Why?

Because sometimes I wasn’t grateful for the awful mess

now that I realize those messes were the best.

Some of my offspring still have the mess, others dont. Be patient, grandkids will make messes for you again.💖💖💖
