ABOUT
Teresa Hall is a writer, licensed social worker and political activist from Dayton, Ohio. She earned both a bachelor and master’s degree from Wright State University. Teresa enjoyed a 20 year career with the great state of Ohio as a human services manager and she currently works for a non-profit agency. Teresa has spent over 30 years advocating on behalf of children and adults with physical disabilities, mental illness and drug addiction.
Teresa lost her hearing at age three and by early adulthood she was profoundly deaf. She reports that her disability turned out to be a blessing because it helped to shape her career choice of being an advocate and voice for others less fortunate than her. She encourages others to rise up, speak up and turn your greatest struggle into your greatest strength.
She started her Social Work Soup blog as a way to share her gift of real life story telling and connect those stories to important social issues that impact on our society.
Teresa is strongly committed to her family, disability rights, equality, diversity and social justice.
